The Coweta County African American Alliance is dedicated to the preservation and conservation of the cultural, historical, and architectural African American heritage of County, and the Coweta County African American Heritage Museum is a way that they can keep on doing so.
The Museum was open in April 2003 and many city officials attended the celebration including Mayor Brady, State Representative Lynn Smith, city council members David Iwamoto and Tom Bradshaw and county commissioner Robert Wood. There were also about one hundred people from the community. The shotgun house, newly renovated by city of Newnan will also be the home office for the African American Alliance organization.
